Our Mission

Honey's Heart: Animal Handling with Heart was started in 2003 by AmberJoy Leonard and in 2009 became a collectively owned and operated company. It is our mission to provide care for animals that far exceeds the normal standards and expectations people have in the dog service industry. We offer a professional yet relaxed training environment, boarding space and playgroups that are catered to dogs of all sizes, breeds and backgrounds. Honey's Heart is committed to serving the San Francisco community and often rescues, fosters and finds homes for animals in need. We at Honey's Heart continually strive to make sure that every client is comfortable and confident that their dogs receive the absolute best care and training we have to offer. Whether it be training, boarding, playgroups, day care, or house-sitting we give it our whole heart. We are proud to be supported by an amazing staff of caring & dedicated people.

She has worked for Honey's Heart since its inception in 2003 and has been invaluable. She is expertly involved in all aspects of the business from dog walking and training to customer service and advertising. Even as a child it was clear that Samantha had a special touch with animals and has grown up working with the dogs at Honey's Heart. This experience has served her very well and she is not only a fantastic dog walker but our assistant dog trainer who shows amazing insight and is committed to finding the right training methods for each dog. She has made a life long commitment to caring for dogs.

Monkey Ford

Maurice (Monkey) Ford has lived in the bay area the majority of his life. He began working for Honey's Heart in 2007. His commitment to caring for animals is apparent in all he does for Honey's Heart. He has rapidly become one of the best dog walkers around as he communicates with each of the dogs like they are his very own. His great attitude and endless energy, along with an amazing work ethic has earned him a special place as head dog walker. His dedication and love of animals can be seen in the face of each dog he walks.
